  1. The Five Love Languages of Children by Chapman

Boundaries with Kids by Townsend (great book!) – all his boundaries books are good but this one really helps with discipline with the kids.

  2. I’ve read way too many and applied way too little:), but here are my faves:

Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Ted Tripp

Mission of Motherhood & Seasons of a Mother’s Heart by Sally Clarkson

Raising Children to Adore God by Patrick Kavanaugh

Don’t Make Me Count to Three by Ginger Plowman

Teach Them Diligently & The Heart of Anger by Lou Priolo

Standing on the Promises by Douglas Wilson

Sacred Parenting by Gary L. Thomas

    Creative Correction by Lisa Whelchel

    Grace-Based Parenting by Tim Kimmel

  3. hey ashleigh! i met you at mica’s baby shower – and feel like i know you from all the great things the mays have told us about y’all! your baby jones is so adorable!

one book that we’ve had recommended to us is “Parenting with Love and Logic” by Cline & Fay. our baby is just 6 months so we haven’t done a lot of discipline yet, but we’ll definitely use the love & logic book when we do – it’s great.

  4. “Spiritual Parenting” is great.
I also really like the Dr. Sears books in general.
    “Siblings without Rivalry”
    “Getting it Right with Children”
And the Gessell institute books, “Your Two Year Old” etc. I read those pretty religiously up to seven or so. At that point I figured if I didn’t already know what I was doing, it was time to sell them to the gypsies!

  5. Others have already said my favorite, but here’s one I’m about to start reading that I thought you might want to borrow when I’m finished…Raising Your Spirited Child by Mary Sheedy Kurcinka. It looks pretty good. So, which one are you going to start first? 🙂
